Garrick is here! And it WAS a MIRACLE! Okay so Last summer I was one of the brave people that ordered a DCUC sub. Well, A few months after I bought the sub I also bought a house and moved. I didn’t realize that I would need to change and update my address till around November. I was warned early on that all I could do was change the address, call, and pray. So I changed the shipping and the billing address in November. Then I called to make sure it was changed the next week. Two months later I called one more time just to make sure it all had been updated. I was assured it was good to go. Last month I got an email saying Flash would be shipped soon. I called a Third time JUST to make sure it was all updated again Good to go. WELL last week I got the shipped email and guess what The email itself had the OLD address as the Billing Address and the NEW address as the Shipping address. No worries right? Sounds like it was all fixed anyways. Then I pull up the tracking info and wa wa wa waaaa The zipcode in the tracking info is for the Old address. So I called a fourth time. The gentleman on the phone told me to “disregard the email” that their system was accurate and the warehouse was updated. He said everything should be fine. I pulled up the tracking order today and vio-la! Delivered to the wrong MotherF%#*ing address. How the F do you have the right shipping info, the wrong billing info and still send the item to the address on the billing info? It doesn’t make sense. Well I gathered some courage and decided to go to the old house I used to live it. I had to go to the back door to knock because the front door screen was shut. A woman answered and got her teenage son to come speak to me. Sure enough the package had arrived and his little brother had opened the box but did not open the figure. I’m happy I have my figure but Im Pi$$3d that I spent so much money to get this big of a head ache. I’ve called already and complained. I’ll be sending another complaint via email soon, and I will call next week and ask to speak to a supervisor to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

I’m a bit of DC fan so this sucks, considering Marvel is bringing the juice with their figures I thought DC was going to step up to the challenge but instead it’s looking they’re backing out. DCUC is online, Young Justice is canned, and the fate of DC All Stars is looking bleak.
Mattel’s the largest toy maker in the world (thank Barbie for that) but You’d think with the 4 horsemen on their team they’d be able to take on Marvel Full steam ahead. Oh well guess it had to end sooner or later. When Marvel Legends went a way it came back stronger than ever, Marvel Select has come along way since they started using Little Giant, Maybe DC direct will fill the gap? Some of their new Arkham City toys look promising. I guess this will be good for me as a collector in the long run because it will make my guys more valuable. Any thoughts?
Mass Effect 3 Gripe.
Okay this probably isn’t a big deal to most people as it is to me, but for me its a real BIG freakin deal. A few years ago one of my favorite games of all time came out called Mass Effect. I played this game 6 times. So that’s a crap load of hours. Well one of the perks of the game is that you can either choose to play with the default Shepard seen in commercials and on the cover, or you can create your own. Well I chose to create my own Shepard. And me and him had an awesome time.
Alright fast forward a few more years and Mass Effect two comes out. Now I wasn’t aware of this at the time, but I found out in Game Informer Magazine that I would be able to use the EXACT same character I used in Mass Effect 1. SWEEET!!! For me as a gamer this was amazing news. Think about it, you spend about 45 mins at the character customization getting your guy just right. Most of the time you’ll play through 1 RPG with him and that’s it with most games. Well Not only would I get the awesomeness of SIX play throughs in Mass Effect 1. Now a brand new adventure in the same universe with the same character. Imagine my nervousness as I loaded up the game and imported the character. BAM! here he is in all his ugly stoic glory.
Not only is this amazing, but I’d consider it actually an improvement. This guy looks just like my shepard, only… BETTER. BioWare nailed it and yes SUPER PUMPED. Fast forward to 5 play throughs, and we arrive to this past Tuesday.
The release of Mass EFFECT 3! Imagine my anticipation. This is it the moment of truth. I load in the disc. Menu pops up… Import Mass Effect 2 character? HELL YES. Load screen pops up of the Normandy HAULING ass through mass effect field. then suddenly BAM!!
Error importing Masse Effect 2 face. Please reconstruct FACE. WHATTTT!!!! KHANNNNNN!!!! Immediately I hop on the web someone must know what’s going on! Within 10 seconds my heart sinks. “Bioware is aware of the concern and is looking into the best way to handle those affected” ??? What’s that mean?? I look at little deeper into the forums. There is NO Way I’m the only person on this planet that fully expected to use the EXACT Same Ugly Bastard in all three games. Turns out I’m not, twitter and the forums have exploded with ANGRY gamers expressing their laments. But there must be a fix?!
Several forums have solutions, one of them is EXTREMELY complicated involves programming, math, a PC, downloading, changing code. And EVEN then, it won’t get the character 100%.
Another solution, find the Face code to your character. Load up Mass Effect 2 guess what, there’s no code because the character was imported from Mass Effect 1. Yeah it really sounds like Bioware intended us to use the same character all the way through. Okay I think to myself… wasn’t there a chance in Mass Effect 2 to change your appearance? Yes there was! you can remove the scars! I load the game up enter the med bay do the upgrade and BAM. Scars removed but can’t alter anything else.
Maybe there was something at the intro? I start a new Game in Mass Effect 2 and import my character. (note this is a pain in the ass because you have a 10 minute intro in Mass Effect 2 that you CAN NOT SKIP. Okay I load it up and start the game. Before you grab the pistol as Miranda is screaming at you I pressed pause and what do I see in the top left hand corner??? THE CODE!
I smiled with Anticipation. HA HA! I got you, you son of a bitch. Yank the disk out fire up Mass Effect 3. Insert the code and… and… and….
Disappointment….
Seriously WHO the F is this gay looking SOB. Okay well it’s close right…I guess most of the facial structure is there. But it’s not the same is it. No it’s not. Well at this point 4 days have passed since my wife bought the game for me. And I’m not even a minute into it. I’ve searched the web constantly and nothing.. no official statement from Bioware or EA. I even emailed the company citing my dissatisfaction. So I decide you know what F it, lets just try and tweak the guy. After about 30 mins or so I manage to get this.
It’s a little closer, but not quite.
Bring my wife in on it and we ultimately get this.
So. Here it is. Sometimes when he’s walking slowly at a distance he kind of looks like My Sheppard… But come on he’s plainly not, more like a distant cousin or stunt double. It pissed me off and frankly it still does. We’re talking about $60 bucks here and hours of my time Yes I want it perfect and it’s not, so it’s frustrating. However if Bioware some HOW manages to fix it to where I can import the Shepard I know and love. Guess what. I’ll start the game all the way over and load him. Cuz he’s the one I went on all the adventures with. Sigh okay I’ll take my cheese with this big whine now. Oh well. just my thoughts on the matter. Here’s a photo that illustrates my frustration…
